Dinner is at eight. The show starts at nine.
Which Moulin Rouge ticket has the champagne on the table. What a Seville tablao costs on a Tuesday. Whether the Agafay fire circle is worth the drive out of Marrakech. Reviews of the cabarets, dinner shows and theatre nights you can book for tonight.
Four nights out that shift more tickets than anything else on the bill.
A dinner cruise on the Bosphorus, the cancan in Pigalle, a fire circle in the Agafay and lacquered puppets on a flooded stage in Hanoi. What a seat costs at each, and what the people in them said.
01The dinner cruiseBosphorus Dinner Cruise & Show with Private TableThree hours out of Kabatas with a table of your own, belly dance and a Fasil band between the courses.
02The cancanMoulin Rouge Cabaret Show Ticket with ChampagneThe 21:00 or the 23:00 house at the Moulin Rouge, half a bottle of champagne on the table. No shorts, no sportswear.
03The desert nightAgafay Desert Sunset, Camel Ride, and Dinner ShowOut to the Agafay stone desert for sunset, a camel at the edge of it, then tagine and drums under the lamps.
04The cheap seatWater Puppet Show TicketsPuppets worked waist-deep behind a bamboo screen at Thang Long. Forty minutes, and change from a ten-dollar note.
The dinner show is the ticket most travellers actually book.
A table, three courses, and a stage twenty feet away. On the Bosphorus it arrives with a Fasil band, in the Agafay with drums and a fire, on the Nile with a tanoura spinning between the mains. Three that fill up first, and every kind of dinner night on the bill.
Six cities that put a show on every night of the week.
Pigalle and the cancan, tablaos in the Santa Cruz lanes, acrobats over a water stage on the Strip, a stone desert an hour from the medina, the Bosphorus after dark, and Tokyo doing something nobody else attempts. Six places to start, and the best seat in each.
Flamenco is fifty people, one guitar and a floor that takes a beating.
The tablao is small, hot and close enough to hear the heels land. Seville runs two sittings a night in the Santa Cruz lanes, Madrid pours dinner into it, Granada does it in a cave up in Sacromonte. The theatre shows seat more and cost less; the tablao is the one people describe afterwards.
Paris cabaret: two houses a night, and three ways to sit through one.

The red windmill has been turning on the Boulevard de Clichy since 1889 and the Doriss Girls still open with the cancan. What changes between tickets is what is on the table in front of you, and how early you have to be in the room.

A seat and a half bottle of champagne
The standard house ticket. You are seated shortly before curtain, the champagne is poured at the table and the show runs about two hours. The later house is the easier one to get.
The most-booked shows on the whole bill.
Every show reviewed →More travellers take these seats than any others, and each earns the slot for a different reason: the room, the price, or the thing that happens on stage.

Bosphorus Dinner Cruise & Turkish Night Show
from $28
The Agafay dinner show is the best-selling evening in Morocco.
Stone desert, not sand, which is why it sits forty minutes from the medina rather than a day away. Sunset over the Atlas, a camel or a quad at the edge of camp, then tagine, drums and a fire circle under the lamps. A hotel pickup is included on nearly every one of them.
Every Marrakech night out →Istanbul puts the dinner show on a boat and sails it up the Bosphorus.
Three or four hours out of Kabatas, two continents sliding past the window, and a Turkish night running between the courses: belly dance, a Fasil orchestra, whirling dervishes on the better boats. The drinks package is where the prices split, so read that line before the star rating.

Broadway, a Vegas high wire, or a barn full of banjos in Branson.
America sells more show seats than anywhere else on this site, and they are not remotely the same evening. Three kinds of American night, and what the cheapest seat costs at each.

Ticket prices, from a puppet stage in Hanoi to a table at the Moulin Rouge.
Every show on the site, grouped by the price of one seat. Most of the best evenings come in under the cost of the dinner you were going to have anyway.
Tablaos, water puppets, comedy clubs, cultural dance nights and most straight theatre tickets.
Dinner shows with the meal included, Vegas acrobats, luaus, and desert nights with the transfer in the price.
Three shows that cannot be staged anywhere else.
Dinner and a dance floor exist in every city on earth. A red windmill in Pigalle, a stage made of water in Hanoi and a hundred men chanting on a cliff at sunset do not travel.

The Moulin Rouge
The windmill has been turning on the Boulevard de Clichy since 1889, and the Doriss Girls still open the bill with the French cancan. Two houses run every night, at 21:00 and at 23:00, and the gap between the champagne ticket and the dinner ticket is most of the price. The dress code is not decorative: jackets are welcome, shorts and sportswear are turned away at the door.

Thang Long Water Puppets
Puppeteers stand waist-deep behind a bamboo screen and walk lacquered wooden figures across a pool, a Red River delta village art close to a thousand years old. A live band sits at the side of the stage and sings the story over it. Shows run to a fixed timetable, last about forty minutes, and cost less than lunch.

The Uluwatu Kecak
There are no instruments at all. Around a hundred men sit in rings and chant the kecak rhythm while the Ramayana plays out and the sun drops behind the Bukit cliffs. It begins at six and it is finished by seven, which is the whole trick of it, and the temple monkeys will take your sunglasses if you give them the chance.

Four shows you cannot buy at the door.
Most of this list can be arranged from a hotel lobby an hour before curtain. These four run on fixed houses, small rooms and pickup lists that close long before the lights go down.
- 01Moulin Rouge Cabaret Show Ticket with ChampagneTwo houses a night, at 21:00 and 23:00, both seated well before the curtain. There is no door queue to join.
- 02Bosphorus Dinner Cruise & Show with Private TableThe boats leave Kabatas on a timetable and a private table is a separate, limited ticket class. Without one you are on a shared bench.
- 03Casa de la Memoria Flamenco ShowA tablao room seats about fifty and runs two sittings a night. The seat is reserved or it is somebody else’s.
- 04Agafay Desert Sunset, Camel Ride, and Dinner ShowThe price includes a hotel pickup, so the camp closes its list in the afternoon rather than at the gate.
Dress codes, age limits, and what time a show actually starts.
Paris cabarets turn away shorts and sportswear at the door. Most drag and burlesque rooms are eighteen and over, while the Moulin Rouge seats children from six. A dinner tier puts you in the room a good hour before the curtain, and the cheaper ticket usually means eating first, somewhere else. Read the start time twice: a nine o’clock house is not a nine o’clock arrival.
